Carved in stone on the wall at the gate of the Ulster Tower is:

MEMORIAL TO THE 36th (ULSTER) DIVISION AND OTHER MEN OF ULSTER WHO SERVED IN THE GREAT WAR
1914 – 1918

OPEN TO VISITORS.

It should be remembered that when the Ulster Tower was constructed Ulster was still nine counties so included the men of Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan.
